Achievements

2015

Decided our name, Richmond Rainbow Pride

Created a banner, a logo, a FB page, a membership application and our website

Attracted 16 members and 14 additional people who have attended one or more meetings

Began working with the Richmond HRC concerning Richmond's HRC MEI Score

Gave a presentation to the Board of the Richmond Neighborhood Council on "Supporting LGBT people in Richmond."

Put on the 1st Annual RRP Family (Pride) Event

 

Marched in our own contingent in the SF Pride Parade & carried our banner

Participated in a Mark DeSaulnier fundraiser/LGBT mixer

Held a Richmond Rainbow Pride December holiday party & LGBTQQI mixer

Participated in the Crime Prevention Expo, the El Cerrito Martin Luther King Day Parade, the 9th Annual Sisters in Solidarity Celebration of International Women's Day, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence Easter in GG Park, and in the Annual Foster Care Conference

 

Won a $750 grant from the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence

 

Created a mission statement, by-laws, and a fiscal policy 

Elected a Board

 

Partnered with QWOCMAP to put on a film festival in Richmond. 

2016

Put on the 2nd Annual RRP Family Event. Theme:  Richmond, The Best is Yet to Come!

 

Put on the Film Festival in partnership with QWOCMAP

 

Participated in the El Cerrito Loving Day Parade & Celebration, the Richmond's FestivAll Celebration, and in Richmond's Juneteenth Celebration

 

Worked with HRC and the City of Richmond to improve Richmond's HRC MEI Score

 

Began working with a LGBTQQI liaison for the City of Richmond

 

Presented a proposed policy to the City of Richmond to refuse payment for travel to states that have laws against LGBTQQI people

2017
